West Oxford Owl for August 29, 2025

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone! The start of the school year is fun and exciting, but also it can exhausting. I hope each of you have an opportunity to rest and relax this long weekend. Students started assessments and will continue into next week. Most students have completed the iReady assessments in reading and math. When iReady assessments are finished, K-3 will take their mClass assessments. This is hard work, and we are proud of their efforts.

Many of our older students applied for leadership roles: announcement team, safety patrol, the dojo cart team, and global greeters. Most of those jobs started this week, and students have proven to be very responsible in the ways they have stepped up.

Buy your West Oxford spiritwear here until September 1st!

Please make sure you have your car number at pick up to ensure students are picked up by an approved adult.

There will be no school on September 1st for Labor Day.

The Drum Line starts this Wednesday and is open to 3rd-5th grade students. Registration forms are in the office.

We will celebrate grandparents and grandparent figures on September 8th with cookies and Capri Suns. RSVP on parent square so we know how many people to expect.

Our Oral Health Clinic will take place September 16-18 at West Oxford Elementary. This clinic is entirely free! Register to participate here: https://gra.identalcloud.com/GranvilleVance/Patient/_practice/2/Registration.

As the weather changes, please be aware that temperatures in our school building fluctuate from room to room. Please help your student wear layers to school, and help us return missing items by labeling jackets and lunchboxes.

We'll see you Tuesday morning!
