This week fourth grade jammed out to the Beatles while analyzing informational text about their music. A first grade class performed folk tales as reader's theater for a live audience. Several classes creatively decorated a recycle bin in English and Spanish for our district competition. Kindergarten students learned about Martin Luther King, and fifth grade demonstrated an understanding of fractions as they designed the floor plans for their dream home.
It is testing season at West Oxford. We are constantly monitoring what our students know, but these assessments are designed to measure how much they have grown from the beginning of the year to now. Students have taken the iReady math and reading tests, and we will be focusing on mClass assessments.
Remote learning packets have been sent home. Please hang on to these in the event of inclement weather that requires us to shift to remote learning.
