West Oxford Owl for December 19, 2025

As we prepare to head off for a well-deserved winter break, our hallways are still buzzing with the incredible energy of this past week. It has been a joy to watch our school community come together to celebrate the season! From the creative costumes of Spirit Week to the beautiful performances during our Holiday Program, our students truly shone. Topping it all off with the whimsical fun of Whoville Day was the perfect way to wrap up the year.

On Tuesday, our school conducted a routine lockdown drill. These scheduled practices are an essential part of our commitment to student safety, ensuring that both staff and students know exactly what to do in the event of an emergency. Our students did an excellent job following instructions and remaining calm throughout the exercise. Following the drill, teachers took a few moments to check in with their classes and answer any questions in an age-appropriate way. We encourage you to talk with your child about their experience. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe.

The families of West Oxford Elementary donated 611.45 pounds of food to ACIM last week AND there was a bag full of the sweetest notes from some of the students! THe team at ACIM sends their thanks!

Mark your calendar for these upcoming events!
  • School will be closed from December 22-January 5th for students. Enjoy your winter break- and read some good books!
  • First semester awards day is January 8th. Your student's teacher will let you know if they are getting an award.

If your student in in third, fourth or fifth grade, we would love for them to participate in the Rhythm and Movement afterschool club provided by the Granville Arts Council! This will start January 13th and will meet from 3:15-4:15 in the cafeteria. Sign up on Parent Square.

Like the winter weather, cold and flu season has started already. Please take time this winter break to wash and disinfect student coats, bookbags, and gear!

We hope you have a wonderful winter break. Stay safe and find moments to curl up with a good book. We will see you in 2026!
