Winter weather is upon us! I confess that Monday's snow caught me entirely by surprise, but according to students, our families made the most of it! I heard stories of snowball fights, snowmen, and snow cream, and I hope you spent time cozied up with a good book. Granville County Schools will always have accurate information regarding school closures on their website, but they share that information out to Parent Square and local news stations as decisions are made.
Congratulations to Leyton Ochoa Estrada, winner of West Oxford’s school wide spelling bee! All of our participants showed courage under pressure and commitment to studying hard. We are proud of each of them!
Due to the cold weather today, we were unable to make our annual walk to ACIM. While I am very sad that our students missed this incredible experience, I am thrilled by the amount of food that you so generously donated to share with our neighbors. What an opportunity for our kids to change the world by helping in in our community today!
Mark your calendar for these upcoming events!
- The holiday concert is Tuesday, December 16th from 6:00-7:00. Please join us!
- It is Holiday Spirit week at West Oxford. Monday is Frosty Day. Please dress like a snowman!

If your student in in third, fourth or fifth grade, we would love for them to participate in the Rhythm and Movement afterschool club provided by the Granville Arts Council! This will start January 13th and will meet from 3:15-4:15 in the cafeteria. Sign up on Parent Square.
Like the winter weather, cold and flu season has started already. Please take time this winter break to wash and disinfect student coats, bookbags, and gear!
Hope you find a good book or two to read this weekend!
