West Oxford Owl for July 17, 2026

Happy summer West Oxford families! We are working to prepare for the start of the school year. We are hiring teachers, waxing floors, and scheduling students. Ms. Mondell Long, our new AP, is getting settled in, and I have linked an interview she did with some of our students here. Check it out!

The school supply list is available here.

Summer Bridge starts Monday for our newest Owls as they spend three days learning all about kindergarten. We are so excited to meet them!

All bus transportation changes must be requested by July 23rd to be in effect at the start of the year. If you are making any changes to your child's bus, whether you moved or need to start riding this year, please call the front office.

Family Bingo Night is Thursday, July 23rd from 6:00-8:00. We will have games for kids as well as adults. Come join us!

Beautification Day is on July 31st from 8:00-11:00. We would love donations of mulch and would welcome your help weeding, mulching, and getting the grounds ready for the return of staff and students! Let the office know if you plan to join us.

Open house is from 4:00-7:00 on August 6th. Come meet your child's teacher, get transportation information, and sign up to be part of our PTO. We will have a book for each student to take home. Tacos Al Vaquero will be there to sell you dinner.

The first day of school is August 10th! Doors open at 7:20 and class starts at 7:45. Dismissal is at 2:55. Parents are welcome to walk their students to class on the first day.

I hope you are enjoying your time off, and that you spend time reading together! Make sure you are tracking that reading on the summer reading log in order to earn prizes. I just finished a book yesterday, and am excited to hear what you read over break!
